NEC Adventure Bound – New Student Wilderness Trips (NEWT)

Monday, August 21st – Thursday, Aug 24th

The program is ideal for students interested in learning more about New England College through new experiences outdoors. This program is ideal for students of all backgrounds, regions and experience levels. The outdoor orientation program is an excellent opportunity for students eager to begin their time at NEC in an exciting adventure where they will learn new things hands on and develop friendships that will last throughout their NEC experience. The trip will start on campus with a luncheon and spend the remainder of day on the NEC low Ropes Course, sleep on tent platforms in the NEC woods, enjoy a campfire, and then depart for a backpacking trip in the White Mountains. The activities will be based on the desires and abilities of the participants.

You will have the opportunity to hike and camp in the NH mountains with experienced Outdoor Education majors and a faculty member who are WFR (wilderness first responder) certified. Please contact Raelyn Viti rviti@nec.edu with questions. The program costs $299 and includes food, transportation, equipment (excluding gear on the packing list), and each participant will receive an Adventure Bound T-Shirt and Water Bottle. Read more.
