Engaged Learning Project
In the Spring of 2007, fourteen New England College students in Robert Seaman’s class, “Planning Sustainable Communities,” presented their vision plan for the town of Dunbarton, New Hampshire.
Throughout the semester, students focused on community planning areas such as identifying wildlife corridors and non-motorized trail networks, creating model wetland protection strategies, creating models for a higher-density cluster community near the village center, and creating models for alternative cluster developments for three existing subdivision projects; all areas that had been suggested by the town’s planning board and conservation commission.
Robert Seaman’s class, “Planning Sustainable Communities,” will be offered again during the Spring 2010 semester.
