Larry Taylor
The Robert A. Kilgore Faculty Award is presented to a member of the faculty whose distinguished service to the teaching profession is recognized by students, staff, and fellow faculty members. The 2010 recipient of the award is Larry Taylor, Professor of Psychology.
Professor Taylor has taught at NEC for 33 years. He loves working closely with students and, as one colleague states, “encourages his students not just to gain knowledge, but to put it into action and make good use of it.” Students respect Larry’s ability to help “find their passions and their voices.” One NEC graduate is quoted as saying, “With his dynamic, enthusiastic, and committed approach to teaching, Larry Taylor would be the college professor I would aspire to be.”
Larry was surprised when Hilton Hallock, Vice President of Academic Affairs, announced his name; and is honored to be named Faculty-of-the-Year. Outside of his professional world, Larry enjoys bodysurfing, kayaking, and sailing in summer; and “eating during all the other months!”
Congratulations to Professor Larry Taylor!
