William Preble
The 2011 recipient of the Robert A. Kilgore Faculty Award is Dr. William Preble, Professor of Education. Dr. Hilton Hallock, Vice President for Academic Affairs, presented the award to Professor Preble at the 2011 Commencement of New England College. “Bill is recognized for his thoughtful leadership, engaging rapport with students, and excellent teaching,” stated Dr. Hallock, “He expects the best from people and organizations, and uses his talents to spark innovation and empower ownership and achievement.”
The Robert A. Kilgore Faculty Award is presented to a member of the faculty whose distinguished service to the teaching profession is recognized by students, staff, and fellow faculty members. In presenting the award, Dr. Hallock noted, “These educators are role models, mentors, and leaders who focus on the transformative imperative of the educational process and the College’s mission.
Dr. Preble is an NEC alumnus and has been teaching at the College for 15 years. He is the founder and president of Main Street Academix (MSA) and Executive Director of the New England Center for School Climate & Learning. He has co-authored Transforming School Climate and Learning: Beyond Bullying & Compliance, a book scheduled to be released by Corwin Press in August 2011.
