New England College Launches MBA Program in Digital and Social Media

— filed under:

New England College will launch a new MBA program in Digital and Social Media in March.

The online, 40-credit program is directed at practicing professionals and is designed to provide the technical skills to assess a variety of digital assets, and the leadership skills to implement them effectively into a successful business plan.

The MBA in Digital and Social Media addresses a growing knowledge gap created by the meteoric rise of social networking, online communities, and digital assets made possible by Web 2.0. While many individuals and companies have embraced the opportunities associated with global connectivity and interactivity, many more are still learning to navigate the unfamiliar and constantly evolving landscape. Today, most experts would agree that the traditional business plan is incomplete without incorporating the power of digital and social media.

“New England College’s MBA program was created specifically to close that knowledge gap,” notes Diane Raymond, Dean of Admission at New England College. “Students in the program can expect to gain proficiency in working with digital assets, and the ability to apply practical solutions that will provide their businesses with a competitive advantage.”

Given the wide range of industries that are successfully incorporating digital and social media into their marketing mix, Raymond feels the program will appeal to a diverse group of students. “Practitioners who aspire to leadership positions in marketing, communication, and public relations in any field will benefit from the advanced knowledge that this program offers,” she noted.

According to Raymond, the global focus of the new MBA program incorporates an international pool of industry experts. “We are working with some of the leading edge practitioners in digital and social media in the world. Their experience in the field brings an added dimension to the learning opportunities that our students will have.”
