President Michele Perkins - New Year's Greeting 2010
Over the past few years, New England College has pursued a series of key strategic goals that has positioned it for both financial and programmatic success in 2010 and beyond. Undergraduate enrollment goals are on track for spring 2010 and up considerably for fall 2010.
With the addition of five new master’s programs in 2009, New England College continues to identify and serve the needs of the adult learner with professional programs that address areas of economic growth. As a result, the College’s graduate enrollment continues to surpass projections. The construction of a new artificial turf field to be completed in the spring of 2010, demonstrates the College’s ability to attract motivated donors. And an upgrade in our Moody’s outlook rating is a further indication of financial confidence. As families continue to struggle to fund their educational investments, NEC anticipates awarding approximately $1.5 million more in financial aid in the coming year than in 2009. A primary initiative for New England College in 2010 is the implementation of an innovative partnership with the state’s community college system. The Community College Honors Program has the potential to close a significant gap in the educational experience of New Hampshire students that will greatly increase their access to baccalaureate degrees.
We begin this new year and a new semester with considerable momentum. I look forward to sharing the successes of the coming year with you all.
Michele D. Perkins, Ed.D.
