Summer Orientation

During your visit to New England College for summer orientation you will have time to establish your goals and learn about yourself and what New England College has to offer. Throughout this one day program, both students and their families will have an opportunity to take care of their financial aid, finalize their course registration, meet other students and their families, and get a more detailed look at the residence halls.  We encourage you to register for one of these one-day sessions:

Thursday, July 8, 2010

Saturday, July 10, 2010

Saturday, August 14, 2010

How do I sign up?

You will receive a registration form in the mail that you may fill out and return, or you can click on one of the dates listed above and register online.

Why should I attend and what will I get out of attending?

During summer orientation you will get a close up encounter with all of the areas on campus. You are going to start off by getting familiar with the campus and what it has to offers, including our coffeehouse, ice arena, gym, residence halls and our turf field. Students and their families will attend a variety show about the different departments on campus and what they have to offer Towards the end of the day students will work on their class schedule if there are any problems and participate in an event that will give them just a small sample of what NEC does all year round. Students will also meet other incoming students and be able to find a group of students to become friends with.  Specifically for family members, you will be able to help your student take care of any student financial aid and learn more about what our departments have to offer and how you can partner with the administration to develop a strong connection.

What time will this take place?

Check in is from 8:30am-9:00am and the program is from 9:00am-3:00pm.

Should my parent or guardian attend?

Yes, parents and/or guardians are encouraged to attend as we have activities planned for them as well to gain the same knowledge as the students. Parents will have a different schedule for part of the day.  While we welcome younger siblings to attend as well, please note that we do not provide a specific program for them and they will need to follow the family member schedule.

Fall Orientation/Welcome Weekend

All new NEC students will move in on Saturday, September 4, 2010 (Fall athletes arrive earlier, please contact your coach for more information).  Students may start moving into the residence halls at 8:00 AM.  Welcome Weekend will continue through the weekend and the first week of classes.
