Winter Carnival Event Schedule

Henniker is the place to be from February 10th - February 12th, 2012! Join NEC alumni, students, families and friends for a weekend packed with athletic games, winter activities, a Snowball, and two days full of skiing and boarding at Pats Peak and Mount Sunapee! 

  Friday, February 10th

Snow Sculpture Contest
Thursday - Friday 2:00pm, Simon Center Lawn
Join a team to compete in New England College's Snow Sculpture Contest. Prizes will be awarded to the first place team. Registration is required weather permitting. Weather Permitting.

Snow Sculpture Judging and Awards
2:00 – 2:30pm, Simon Center Lawn

Women’s Ice Hockey vs. Plymouth State University
4:00 – 6:00pm, Lee Clement Arena

Women’s Basketball vs. Maine Maritime

Bonfire & Beer Tent
9:00pm, Currier Alumni Center
Join students, faculty, NEC alumni, and the residents of Henniker for a huge bonfire that will take place behind the Currier Alumni Center! Enjoy hot chocolate, s’mores, and for those who are 21+ there will be a cash bar, beer tent.

 Saturday, February 11th

Alumni Ski Day & BBQ
8:00am – 4:00pm, Mount Sunapee
Don’t miss out on a full day of skiing or riding, a BBQ on the “Sunapee Beach” and for those who like to race, two runs on the NASTAR race course! Registration is required. Click here to register

Snowball

Want to dance the night away, dressed in your best formal wear? Join faculty, staff, students and families, for a winter wonderland festivity, with great music, dancing, and drinks! Ticket price is $10.00 per person to attend. Formal dress is required.

 
Sunday, February 12th

Ski Day at the Peak
8:00am – 4:00pm, Pats Peak
Join us of a day for FREE, that’s right, FREE skiing or riding at the Peak! Registration is required by 4:30pm on Friday, February 10th in order to reserve your FREE lift ticket. Click here to register!

Iron Chef Competition
11:00 a.m. to 1:00pm, Gilmore Dining Hall
Show off your amazing culinary skills and techniques by competing in the NEC Iron Chef Competition! Registration is required, contact Megan Hotaling at 603-428-2429 or osi@nec.edu. 

Cardboard Sled Race
2:00pm, Laurie Cox Memorial Fields
Break out your creative side and get a team together to compete in the NEC Cardboard Sled Race! Teams will have one hour to build their cardboard sled using only the approved materials – cardboard & duck tape! Weather Permitting. Click here to register today!

Open Skate

Lace up your skates and join us for some fun on the ice!
