Community Engagement and Volunteer Programs
As the NEC mission statement states, “New England College emphasizes experiential learning as an essential component” in the development of students, as well as “ethical and responsible citizenship, including service to the community.”
Pilgrim Pride Day
The Athletics Department and Student Engagement team together to help beautify the campus we call home. Each spring hundreds of NEC students take part in this event.
NEC Serves is an annual opportunity for NEC students to volunteer throughout the Greater Henniker Community, helping our neighbors with projects at their homes or local businesses. In October 2018 over 150 students helped to complete 14 different projects. We will once again be hosting this program from October 22-November 1, 2019.

Pay It Forward Service Day – The NEC Rugby Team provided a day of service to Rick Erikson, a 91-year-old veteran. The opportunity for the team to hear first-hand about the hardships, sacrifices, joys, and success of a life well lived were a valuable part of the time spent with Rick.
