I am writing to invite you and your interested students to attend the "D4D on the Road" workshop at New England College from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm on Friday, October 30 in the Simon Center Great Room. Breakfast and registration will begin at 9:00. Lunch will be provided.
"D4D on the Road" is a one-day training program that will be held at 12 college and university campuses around the country this fall. The workshop is co-sponsored by Project Pericles and the Spencer Foundation and will be co-hosted by a number of student groups, student government, and academic departments from our campus.
Midwest Academy will be leading the "D4D on the Road" workshops. Founded in 1973 the Midwest Academy is a national training institute committed to advancing the struggle for social, economic, and racial justice. From local neighborhood groups to statewide and national organizations, Midwest Academy has trained over 25,000 grassroots activists from hundreds of organizations and coalitions. Midwest Academy teaches an organizing philosophy, methods, and skills that enable ordinary people to actively participate in the democratic process.
Due to space limitations, all people interested in attending the workshop will need to register for this event at http://necd4d.eventbrite.com. I hope that you will be able to join us at this event and that you can forward this e-mail to other people on campus who might be interested in attending the workshop.
