Undergraduate Admission

Are you considering New England College? Applying for admission is your first step.

New England College accepts applications throughout the year on a “rolling admission” basis. That means your application will be reviewed as soon as it is received. You will receive your admission decision and scholarship amount within 48 hours. At New England College, all admitted students are offered an academic scholarship beginning at $23,000 for full-time study. Scholarships are renewable each year.

First-Year Applicants

Most first-year applicants apply during their senior year of high school. You can complete New England College’s quick
1-2-3 Apply Application or the Common Application.

Admission Requirements

  1. Completed Application for Admission including self-reported GPA
  2. Final official high school transcript (required before enrollment, not with your application)
  3. Optional: SAT/ACT scores (These scores are not required at NEC.)
  4. BFA Programs Only: Portfolio of 15–20 images of your work via com or your Instagram handle (required before enrollment, not with your application)

If you take any college courses during high school, be sure to ask your high school to send your official transcript to NEC before enrollment so that the courses can be counted toward your degree.

Transfer Applicants

Students who take college courses after graduating from high school are considered transfer students. If you are a transfer student, you can complete the regular NEC application or the Common Application.

Transfer Student Admission Requirements

  1. Completed Application for Admission including self-reported GPA
  2. Final official high school and college transcripts (required before enrollment, not with your application) Note: Unofficial college transcripts are requested in order to provide students with a transfer credit evaluation.
  1. BFA Programs Only: Portfolio of 15–20 images of your work via com or your Instagram handle (required before enrollment, not with your application)

You may transfer up to 90 credits for courses with a grade of C- or higher. Graduates of community colleges in New Hampshire, and selected others, are eligible for a Community College Graduate Discount Program with a tuition rate of $10,000 per academic year.

International Applicants

New England College offers a global community and welcomes students from around the world to share their rich cultures and diversity as members of our student body. Qualified students receive an offer of admission and scholarship beginning at $23,000. 

International students who enroll at New England College will receive an I-20 that will be needed in order to obtain an appointment for a visa interview with a US Consular. Students seeking an F-1 Student Visa are required to submit the below materials.

International Student Admission Requirements

  1. Completed Application for Admission
  2. Transcripts from all secondary schools and universities attended. Unofficial documents may be submitted; however, final official documents will be required before enrollment.
  3. Proof of English Proficiency through submission of TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, or DuoLingo or at least one year of study at a college or university in the US.
  4. Completed Declaration and Certification of Finances form, including bank statements that demonstrate that funding for at least the first year of attendance is available. The New England College scholarship is considered part of the funds to be used.
  5. BFA Programs Only: Portfolio of 15–20 images of your work via com or your Instagram handle (required before enrollment, not with your application)

New England College offers instruction in English as a Second or Other Language for students who do not meet the required level of English proficiency required for enrollment in a degree program.
