Welcome to the arena!
Fending off a zombie apocalypse or fighting to be the last player standing in Fortnite.
Overcoming intelligent robots posing a new threat to the futuristic world of Overwatch.
Controlling the battlefield to eliminate your enemy’s nexus in League of Legends.
This is the world of esports—competitive video gaming—an emerging event at the college level. And NEC has dropped into the action.
With its new esports arena, New England College offers a unique technology environment powered by Dell’s boundary-pushing Alienware platform. This platform enables all interested students to compete against other colleges, regionally and nationally, in games like Fortnite, Overwatch, and League of Legends.
Competitive esports teams teach students leadership, communication, perseverance, and determination, the same skills gained from participating in other sports.
And participation in this club sport complements NEC’s academic programs that teach game design, game theory, social media branding, and strategy.
Tyrelle Appleton, a nationally respected former esports competitor, leads the program and shares his knowledge and experience with the next generation of gamers and designers.
Take your gaming skills to the next level at New England College.
