Why play at NEC?

A well-rounded experience  Esports teaches leadership, communication, perseverance, and determination, the same skills gained from participation in other sports. And our esports program is open to all students. This gives students the opportunity to form connections in ways they might not have thought possible.

Real-world application of academic programs  Esports is closely connected to Game and Digital Media Design, but it also supports academic programs that focus on art, writing, marketing, graphic or website design, science, and strategy.

NACE membership  NEC is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE). As a member, we are committed to maintaining high standards of player conduct and eligibility. NEC’s esports program is offered as a club sport and will be regulated by NACE.

A rising program  Coach Tyrelle Appleton leads NEC’s esports program. He has positioned the program to become a major competitor in the esports field through NEC’s state-of-the-art arena, participation in events like ESPN’s Collegiate Esports Championship, and national recruitment of players.

Diverse games Overwatch, League of Legends, Rocket League, CS:GO, NBA2K, Fortnite, Super Smash Bros, Apex Legends, Madden, Rainbow Six Siege , NHL, FIFA, Call of Duty: MW, Gears 5
