New England College Unveils New Logo and Tagline

Part of New Visual Identity Campaign.

New England College has unveiled a new logo design for the private, liberal arts College located in Henniker, NH. “It’s new, improved and still red, white, and blue,” said President Michele Perkins. The logo will be used as the centerpiece of a new visual identity campaign for the institution and will be rolled out over the coming academic year.

The abstract design, one of four final options considered by the College community, was unanimously approved by the Board of Trustees at their May meeting. “After more than ten years it was time for New England College to refresh its logo to better reflect the dynamic growth and success of our institution,” Perkins said.

The revitalized graphic identity is the result of a year-long process that included feedback on design options from various campus stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and trustees. The new logo replaces the previous stars and stripes design and is intended to convey New England College’s strength and excellence as it moves forward with its plan to become the most highly respected and sought after small private college in New Hampshire, known for its innovative academic programs and as a leader in experiential education.

Along with a new logo the College has also adopted a new tag line – FORWARD – which will be part of the new design and reflects the College’s commitment to forward movement as an institution and the momentum of its students both academically and personally.

“Our goal in launching a new logo is to bring new energy to our institutional image, to take what makes us who we are and modernize it, and to allow our logo to show up more effectively on everything from print pieces, the Web, in social media, on various apparel items, and on mobile devices,” said New England College Board Chair Lex Scourby.

A new style guide will be developed and available for signs, merchandising, and the logo’s use on the Web.
