Dear New England College community,

As we celebrate Independence Day, we also begin a remarkable year. Our nation begins commemorating its 250th anniversary, and New England College celebrates its 80th year. These milestones remind us that history is not only something we study. It is something each generation helps shape.

Anniversaries invite reflection. They also invite us to look ahead.

For 80 years, New England College has remained committed to helping students discover their potential and prepare for lives of purpose. While higher education has evolved, our commitment to students has remained constant.

This year, we reaffirmed that commitment through our renewed mission. We foster student success through excellence in transformative education, critical thinking, civic engagement, and career development. We help our graduates build their foundation for a meaningful life.

That mission reflects what has always mattered most. Education is about more than earning a degree. It is about developing knowledge, judgment, and character to contribute to our communities, our professions, and the world around us.

As we reflect on our nation’s history, we are reminded that progress depends on informed citizens, thoughtful leaders, and individuals who are willing to engage with new ideas and different perspectives. Those qualities remain as important today as they have ever been.

The opportunities before us are as important as the accomplishments behind us. I am grateful to be part of a community that embraces learning, values service and is committed to preparing the next generation to lead with purpose.

On behalf of everyone at New England College, thank you for being part of our community. I wish you and your family a safe, enjoyable, and meaningful Independence Day.

Warm regards,

Signature of Dr. Wayne F. Lesperance, Jr., president of New England College.
