Henniker, N.H. (May 21, 2021)—Citing a successful on-campus experience this academic year, New England College (NEC) President Michele Perkins announced today that, “With the COVID-19 vaccine now widely available throughout the country, we will add it to our list of required vaccinations. With limited exceptions, all students attending classes on campus in fall 2021 must be fully vaccinated. Faculty and staff must also be fully vaccinated by August 1, 2021 if they work on campus.”

The College has urged community members to take advantage of the ready supply of vaccines now available. The College has held vaccination clinics on campus and plans more in the future but made this announcement to give all community members time to get their shots before the fall semester begins in mid-August.

Cognizant that the COVID-19 vaccination places another task on student checklists, Dr. Perkins added, “Vaccination of our on-campus community will help us return to normal. We will be able to have more face-to-face classes and non-class activities. We will be able to schedule travel courses, field trips, host athletic competitions, and open up our galleries and theatre for exhibitions and performances, and so much more.”
