New England College to Cover Tuition for Military Students if Federal Assistance Is Delayed

New England College (NEC) announced today that it will provide financial assistance to active-duty military students if the U.S. government shutdown continues through the start of its upcoming Fall II academic term on October 20, 2025.
This initiative ensures that military students will not have to pause their studies or delay their intent to enroll. NEC will cover the tuition cost for one course during the Fall II term after any existing federal funds for which the student is eligible are applied if military tuition assistance is delayed.
“New England College has a long-standing commitment to supporting military students,” said Dr. Wayne F. Lesperance, Jr., President of New England College. “We understand the challenges that can arise during times of uncertainty. Our message is clear: Your education does not need to wait.”
This opportunity applies to active-duty military students enrolled or intending to enroll in the Fall II 2025 term beginning October 20, 2025. Continuing students must have an active tuition assistance record. New students must complete the tuition assistance application process when it becomes available. Undergraduate students are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to ensure that all funding options are explored.
For questions or assistance, students may contact Student Financial Services at 603.428.2226 or sfs@nec.edu.
New England College proudly stands with those who serve, continuing its tradition of access, respect, and opportunity for military-affiliated learners.
