Veterans Day: A Community Message

Dear members of the New England College community,

Today, our nation pauses to honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces—men and women who have stood watch over our freedom, often at great personal sacrifice. Here at New England College, we proudly join in that tribute.

Freedom, as President Ronald Reagan once reminded us, is never more than one generation away from extinction. Each generation must defend, nurture, and pass it on. Our veterans have done exactly that, answering the call of duty, leaving the comfort of home, and standing in defense of liberty for people they may never meet.

Their service is a timeless reminder that courage and character define a nation more than comfort or convenience. To the veterans among us—students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends—we offer our deepest gratitude. Your example challenges us to lead lives of service, integrity, and purpose.

As we move through this Veterans Day, let us each take a moment to reflect, to thank, and to remember. In doing so, we keep faith with all who have worn the uniform and ensure that the values they defended continue to live here, on our campus and in our hearts.

With respect and gratitude,

Dr. Wayne F. Lesperance, Jr.
President
