Senior Vice President of Academic Alliances

A Trustee from 2004 to 2018, Jim chaired the New England College Board from 2009 to 2017. Formerly the Chief Information and Effectiveness Officer at the College of New Rochelle in NY, Jim’s career includes many distinguished roles in higher education: Chairman and CEO of Maguire Associates; Chief Operating Officer of The New School; Vice President for Administration at Baruch College (CUNY); Dean for Information Services (CUNY), among several others.

Jim earned his doctorate in sociology at Columbia University, a BA and MA (sociology) from Queens College (CUNY) and has taught at Columbia University, Queens College and Baruch College. Jim has been recognized for his service by New England College’s Alumni Association (William Troy Award), New School’s Board of Trustees (Founders Medal), and the Union Square Partnership (Buchbinder Award). Jim co-chairs Safe and Sound: A Sandy Hook Initiative, a foundation focused on improving school safety.
