1.  What is the next step after cashing my Cash Advance?

After you have spent what you need of the cash advance turn in remaining money to Student Financial Services, and turn in your receipts to the finance office, attn Kelli Conneely.  Your expense report needs to be signed by your Budget Officer/Supervisor.  The receipts and money left should be turned in within 30 days.  If you have spent more than your cash advance, and the expense report has been signed off on, allow two weeks for the reimbursement check to be processed.  (If the reimbursement due to you is under $25 it can be processed through petty cash by Student Financial Services.)

2.  What is the next step after getting an award from the Faculty Development Committee?

If you need a cash advance contact Kelli Conneely for help with the form to make sure it has the correct information because of the different grants, the follow the usual cash advance process for turning in receipts and unused cash.  If you need a purchase order follow the usual purchase order process for your department, but contact Kelli to confirm the account number information.  If you have already made the purchase(s) and need a reimbursement contact Kelli to confirm the proper account number

3.  How do I get a college credit card?

Your supervisor will approve your credit card request, which normally takes 2 weeks for processing.  Contact Kelli Conneely for the application and policy.

4.  How do I submit expense information for a college credit card?

Once you have a college credit card you will receive a monthly credit card statement and a credit card expense form that needs to be filled out listing the account number information on which accounts to expense.  Also, any meal information needs to have Date, Restaurant, Attendees, Topic of Business (the back of the credit card expense form has space for this).  A receipt is required for every charge, and any purchase orders for those charges needs to be attached so the purchase order can be closed, or if it is a standing purchase order the amount used will be deducted from the balance of the purchase order.  You and your budget officer will need to sign off on the form, unless you are the budget officer.  Expense paperwork is due within approximately 2 weeks of getting a copy of the credit card statement.

5.  Where do I get information on college liability insurance coverage?

If you have questions on liability coverage e-mail your question with as much detail as possible to kconneely@nec.edu.  If we don’t have the answer a query will be sent to our insurance carrier.
