Imagine waking up each morning with no recollection of who you are, your past, or the people around you. Meet Claire, a woman with a rare form of psychogenic amnesia. Despite the best efforts of her husband and son to remind her of her identity each day, all is lost overnight and Claire wakes each morning with a blank slate. She encounters more than a few zany souls, escaped convicts, and shady characters who are not exactly who they say they are and in the climax of this fun-house plot, comes face-to-face with everything she thought she had forgotten.

The New York Times called Fuddy Meers a “dark, sweet and thoroughly engaging comedy,” and New York Magazine referred to it as “wicked fun.” Produced in 1999 at the Manhattan Theatre Club, Fuddy Meers is David Lindsay-Abaire’s first play. It earned him the John Gassner Playwriting Award and the Heilpern Award for Most Promising Dramatist. In 2007, Lindsay-Abaire received a Pulitzer Prize for his play Rabbit Hole
