NEC Names New Trustee

The New England College Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that they have voted unanimously in favor of electing Scott Simpson to the NEC Board of Trustees.

Scott Simpson, FAIA, LEED AP is an award-winning architect and currently Senior Director at KlingStubbins, an international design firm. He is a Richard Upjohn Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, co-chair and Senior Fellow of the Design Futures Council, a founding board member of the Rice Building Institute, and is on the Board of Governors of the Boston Children's Museum. Mr. Simpson has lectured at the Harvard, Yale, Rice, New Jersey Institute of Technology, University of Wisconsin, and Rice University schools of architecture, and has been a featured speaker at more than fifty national conferences and symposia, including 15 AIA national conventions. He has published 115 articles on innovation in the design profession and has co-authored two books: How Firms Succeed and The Next Architect—a New Twist on the Future of Design. Projects for which he has been responsible have earned more than a dozen design awards, including Lab of the Year honors and two Business Week/Architectural Record awards.

Mr. Simpson holds degrees from Yale University (in English literature) and the Harvard Graduate School of Design (in Architecture).  He is registered in twenty states and is both NCARB and LEED certified.
