· HS 2980 - Introduction to Historical Methods
American Concentration
- Three additional courses in American History
- One course in European History 3000
- Three elective courses in History
- One Directed/ Independent Study
- HS 4950 - Senior Thesis
European Concentration
- Three additional courses in European History
- One course in American History
- Three elective courses numbered in History
- One Directed/ Independent Study
- HS 4950 - Senior Thesis (3 credits)
Note: HS 3990 may, with permission, be used to satisfy requirements above the 2000 level.
C. Foreign Language Requirement
History majors must demonstrate reading proficiency in one foreign language, either through a test process approved by the department or through 6 credit hours (in one language) of instruction at the college level. English may be considered as a foreign language for students whose first language is not English.
