Requirements to Major in Kinesiology
Students majoring in kinesiology must earn a C-or better in all courses required for the major. It is strongly recommended that kinesiology majors choose an advisor in the kinesiology department by the end of their first year. All kinesiology majors must complete the kinesiology core courses, listed below. Students wanting to concentrate in pre-athletic training must complete additional requirements, as detailed below.

Requirements to Pre-Athletic Training Concentration
This concentration of the kinesiology major is intended for students planning to pursue careers in athletic training certification and other movement related fields (coaching, recreation, and fitness leadership) that require a sound foundation in movement sciences as well as the care, prevention, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
In order
to be eligible for certification as an athletic trainer, students must pursue
further education at a CAAHEP accredited athletic training program. Please
contact the head athletic trainer for further information.
Students in this concentration must take kinesiology
core courses as well as the following additional required pre-athletic training
concentration course.

Requirements to Minor in Coaching
Students majoring in kinesiology cannot minor in coaching.
