From their very first year, New England
College students can be found in the classroom inspiring children to
read, developing an after school program, directing a student
performance, or leading other students to improve their own schools.
By gaining knowledge and becoming an active member of the community,
our students experience a genuine sense of achievement and know that
their contributions are authentic and valued.
Students in the physical education program will learn a variety of concepts and strategies related to effective motor skill performance. They will develop the ability to motivate their own students to participate in physical activities in a variety of settings that relate to personal experiences, the community, and real-life tasks. The curriculum will cover the history, philosophy, laws, and rules related to teaching physical education, as well as adaptive physical education for students with disabilities. Proficiency in organizing, allocating, and managing resources will be covered as well as designing and implementing learning experiences that are safe, appropriate, relevant, and based on principles of effective instruction in the physical activity setting.
