Artists featured in this exhibit include Henniker resident Christine Szelog-Tilley. Trained as a photographer, Szelog-Tilley has a successful studio photography business in Henniker; she recently began to explore the process of printmaking with a fascination for images of the landscape. Using a Monotype process for her Impressions of Ink, she transfers images from her photographs into the ink. Szelog-Tilley is a G.I. Bill student at New England College.
Heidi Waugaman-Page of Deering, NH, decided after raising a family and decades in the work force to return to the classroom to rediscover her artistic self. Her multi-media installation, It’s My Turn to Drive, deals humorously with the issues that confront 21st Century women in America. Politics, religion, family obligations, office humor, and introspective works are presented in a way that are intensely personal, yet speak to our shared experiences.

Nicholas (Bud) Marro of Claremont, NH, combines an interest in the human body in motion and night photography. New England College student athletes are photographed at night, in full gear. Bud’s technique creates a sense of movement and the brightly lit figures against the night sky help your eye to focus on those figures.
Two of the exhibiting seniors, Kira Zannoni and Krisna Mamesah, were Chester College students who completed their degrees at New England College. Kira Zannoni’s paintings are large canvases that explore a world of normally useful items no longer fulfilling their intended purpose. All of her paintings were created from photographs Zamboni took of found, discarded items. She strives for these paintings to evoke emotions best described as melancholy, heartrending, reflective and sentimental.
A graphic design major, Krisna Mamesah created branding material for a coffee company, developing and designing a company logo, individual coffee labels, and other branding items.

Photographer Nick Conner specializes in photographing automobiles. He considers them sculptures in motion, and is fascinated by their design elements, their lines, and details. Conner is also interested in exploring the reflections of the world on the machine’s shiny surfaces.
Minghua (Claire) Sun is a math and art major. She is presenting her minimalist paintings and a website that she designed to showcase her visual work. Sun’s objective is to present a site that is not only a tool of display, but also a design project that is consistent with her artistic style— from concept to layout; from design details to the work it holds.
New England College’s program in art and art history provides knowledge of and experience with the basic means of visual expression and a broad exposure to the history of art. Majors acquire a foundation for professional or graduate study or careers in teaching, museum work and studio and commercial art. Students may choose to specialize in general studio art, graphic and communication design, painting/drawing, photography, or art history.
Admission to The Gallery is free. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday from 11:00 to 4:00 p.m., and other times by appointment. The Gallery is located on Main Street in Henniker, New Hampshire, adjacent to the College’s Administration Building. For more information, call The Gallery at 603-428-2329.
