GRADUATE OUTCOMES
In the Fall and Spring Semesters of each academic year, Pathways Career Services sends a graduate survey to both the most recent graduating class, and the class which graduated five years earlier. We have had an approximate 50% return rate, and hope for higher returns in the future.
The responses have been encouraging.
- Between 70% and 89% of each year's graduating class are employed full-time within one year of graduation, and between 4% and 29% of each year's graduating class attended graduate school during the year following graduation.
- 48% of the class "five years out" had obtained a graduate school degree or continuing professional certification.
- Between 76% and 100% of each year's graduates express satisfaction with their current employment or graduate school program.
NEC alumni often visit the campus to discuss their career paths with students. Panels called "Alumni Coffee Hours" are held about four times a year, and are very well attended. During these discussions, students can ask graduates about life in the "real world." Topics like the job search, interviewing strategies, surviving the first job, living on a lean budget, and how to find an apartment have all been addressed at these informal meetings between students and alums.
