Brian Mini '10

Hometown: Everett, Ma

Major: Business Administration, Concentration in Accounting

Why did you choose the Business program at NEC? I chose the business major at NEC because it is a large growing major at the school and it seemed very interesting to me. It has been a very challenging three years but I believe it was the right decision, for that fact alone. I didn't cruise through college, it was hard and the only way you’re going to make it anywhere in life is by hard work and a great work ethic, and I believe the program has done both for me.

What are your extracurricular interests? I am the team manager for the varsity women's ice hockey team.

Why did you choose NEC? I went to a small high school, where the teachers knew me as a student and worked hands on with me.  I liked that about NEC and that is the main reason why I came here.

What do you like best about NEC? The size, it’s not too small and is it not too big. The class sizes are perfect for learning and interacting with your peers and professors.

What do you do for fun on the weekends? I hang out with my friends and go to the athletics events to support the teams and friends on the teams.

What is your favorite class and why? My favorite class would have to be either Management Accounting or my Small business/ Entrepreneurship class. Both taught me a lot about being in business and it is something I can see myself doing one day.

What has been your favorite memory at NEC? I would have to say there are many, but my senior year is probably something that is going to stay with me for a very long time.

How was your transition from high school to NEC? My transition was very easy, NEC made it easy. I lived with other students that had the same interest as me and the professors made me feel like I was still in high school by their teaching styles.

What do you like most about Henniker? I like the old school feel of Henniker, the small pharmacy, Mom and Pops stores and just how the town is set up. It’s just a cool place to live and go to school.

What are your plans after graduation? My plans are to attend graduate school to get my MBA.
