From their very first year, New England College students in the Bachelor in Secondary Education program can be found in the classroom inspiring children to read, developing an after school program, directing a student performance, or leading other students to improve their own schools. By gaining knowledge and becoming an active member of the community, our students experience a genuine sense of achievement and know that their contributions are authentic and valued.
In New England College’s Secondary Education degree program, five specializations are offered: biology, English, mathematics, social studies, and theatre education.
In addition to the proficiencies associated with their specialization, students will become knowledgeable in current educational theory and the legal and professional responsibilities of their role as teachers. As student-centered practitioners, they will engage their students both intellectually and emotionally and will be capable of managing the resources and challenges of a secondary school classroom.
