New England College men’s and women’s cross country teams each finished well at The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Championship meet held Saturday in Springfield, Mass. The men’s team placed an impressive fourth out of eight teams, while the women placed seventh out of nine teams.


 

Leading the way for the men was Jesse Caprotti (W. Shokan, N.Y.) who finished the 8K race in a career-best 27:37  good enough for tenth place. With the tenth place finished Caprotti earned TCCC All-Conference honors. NEC’s Mike Coulombe (Strafford, N.H.) also finished with a career-best time of 28:14 good enough for 15th  place overall and was the third fastest among the first-year runners. NEC’s Mike Harrison (Newbury, N.H.) finished 24th with a time of 28:58, while Andrew Nelson (Nottingham, N.H.) finished 55th with a time of 31:26.

The top NEC runner on the women’s side was Brooke Fallon (Dennis, Mass.) who ran the 6K in a time of 24:51 finishing in eighth place.  With the eight place finish Fallon was the second fastest among first-year runners and earned TCCC All-Conference honors.  NEC’s Jessica Chisholm (Stoughton, Mass.) finished 65th with a time of 29:39 and Amber Ruscoe (Newtown, Conn.) finished 66th with a time of 29:40.

The Pilgrims return to action on Saturday, Nov. 15 when they travel to Williams College to take part in the NCAA DIII Regionals.
