Junior Alexandra DiRico among national leaders

New England College women’s lacrosse goalie Alexandra DiRico (Limerick, Pa.) finished her 2009 campaign among the national leaders in several goalie statistics. DiRico, a junior, ranked first among NCAA Division III goalies with 249 saves on the season and finished tenth in the nation in save percentage (.537).


 

DiRico also broke the school’s single-season save record surpassing JB Kelley who stopped 243 shots back in 1998.  DiRico was named to The Commonwealth Coast Conference Second Team as she started 18 games in net and finished with a 9-9 record.

 

The Pilgrims finished the season 10-9 and earned a trip to the ECAC New England Tournament for the third time in program history.
