New England College men’s basketball was held to a season low 56 points as the Endicott College Gulls beat the Pilgrims 100-56 Wednesday evening in Beverly. With the loss the Pilgrims fall to 7-17 overall and 2-10 in the conference.

Endicott would open the game on fire racing to an early 17 point lead up 24-7 in the opening minutes.  The Pilgrims would try to muscle their way back but the Gulls would shoot an impressive 62% from the field in the first half, including 80% from three-point range to build a 56-26 lead heading into halftime.

Endicott would continue to control much of the offense in the second half as they stretched their lead to as many as 31 points with just minutes remaining.  Leading the way for the Pilgrims was Kingsley Onyechi (Lowell, Mass.) who finished with a team-high 12 points.  NEC’s Patrick Holung (Hartford, Conn.) was the only other Pilgrim to score in double figures finishing with 10 points.  The Gulls held NEC’s leading scorer Ryan Jaziri (Norwich, Conn.) to just 2-of-10 shooting and just seven points.

The Pilgrims wrap up their regular season on Saturday when they travel to take on Wentworth Institute of Technology at 3:00 p.m.
