Fisher College’s Brandon Hamilton (Sarasota, Fla.) scored a game-high 31 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds as the Fisher College Falcons beat the Pilgrims 92-65 Saturday evening in Henniker.


 

The two teams would battle evenly throughout the opening minutes of the game but Fisher would use a 10-2 run to go up 25-14 midway through the opening half.  The Pilgrims would try to cut the lead but the Falcons would continue to shoot well finishing the first half shooting 40% from the field and heading into halftime up 43-33.

 

The Pilgrims would come out of halftime on fire cutting the Falcon lead to five but again Fisher would respond going on an 11-2 run and grabbing a 16 point lead with 9:22 remaining in regulation.  Fisher’s offense would continue to cruise as they would go on another 11-0 run late at cruise to the 92-65 victory.

 

In addition to Hamilton Fisher was led by Shahab Syed (Dix Hills, N.Y.) who finished with 17 points and Ryan Henry (Westwood, N.J.) who chipped in 15 points for the Falcons.

 

Leading the way for NEC was Shane Hennessey (Plymouth, England) who finished with a team-high 17 points and ten rebounds.  NEC’s Rafael Salado (Boston, Mass.) finished with 16 points and Eric Eklund (W. Harrison, N.Y.) chipped in 11 points.

 

Fisher College will face off with Mt. Ida College in the NEC Tip-Off Tournament Championship on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.  NEC will play tournament host Lyndon State is in the consolation game on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
