Men's Lacrosse sails past Daniel Webster

New England College men’s lacrosse would explode for seven first quarter goals and never look back as the Pilgrims would sail past the visiting Daniel Webster Eagles 22-2 Friday afternoon. With the win the Pilgrims even their overall record at 2-2, the loss drops the Eagles to 0-3 overall.


 

NEC would score the first nine goals of the match before Daniel Webster would net a goal at the 7:13 mark in the second getting the Eagles on the board.  Daniel Webster would net another goal in the second quarter of play but the Pilgrims would respond heading into halftime up 11-2. The Pilgrims would finish the game on a 11-0 run, holding the Eagles scoreless in the second half and capturing the 22-2 victory.

 

Leading the way for NEC was Matt Carey (Medford, N.Y.) who scored two goals and dished out four assists.  NEC’s John Gabriel (West Nyack, N.Y.) netted four goals and had an assist, while Matt Goyette (Lowell, Mass.) and Phil DiFalco (Scarsdale, N.Y.) each finished with three goals.

 

Leading the way for Daniel Webster was Adam Laithy (N. Smithfield, R.I.) and Mike Jordan (Wakefield, Mass.) who each netted a goal for the Eagles.

 

Picking up the win in net for NEC was Nick Aquaviva (Syracuse, N.Y.) who finished with a save.  In net for Daniel Webster was Tom Driscoll (South Boston, Mass.) who finished with 17 saves on the afternoon.
