Fallon led all Pilgrim women finishing 40th overall in Saturday's meet
NEC Cross Country races at Westfield State
New England College men’s and women’s cross country competed in the 13th Annual James Early Invitational hosted my Westfield State College on Saturday in Westfield, Mass. As a team the women placed 16th out of 22 teams with an average time of 24:24. The men placed 15th out of 21 teams with an average time of 30:11.
Leading the way for the men was senior Jesse Caprotti who finished the 8K race in a time of 28:16 good enough for 46th place. Following Caprotti was Mike Coulombe who finished 85th overall with a time of 29:33 and Mike Harrison who finished 91st with a time of 29:44. Two NEC male runners ran a collegiate best including Alex Svedberg (34:58) and Greg Bonitatibus (37:03.)
Leading the way for the women was first-year runner Brooke Fallon. Fallon finished the 5K race in a collegiate best time of 21:10 good enough for 40th place. Following Fallon was Elizabeth Bohn who finished in 141st place in a time of 24:30. Two NEC runners ran their best race of the season including Jessica Chisholm and Amber Ruscoe.
The Pilgrims are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 18 when they travel to Western New England College.
