NEC Women's Basketball Hits Season High Score against Eastern Nazarene College

Pilgrims 86 - Crusaders 56

The New England College Pilgrims would score a season-high 86 points beating the visiting Eastern Nazarene College Crusaders 86-56 Tuesday night. The win snaps a three game losing streak for the Pilgrims improving them to 7-15 overall and 2-7 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC.) The loss drops the Crusaders to 5-17 overall and 1-9 in the TCCC.


The Pilgrims would jump out to the early lead up 11-2 at the 13:06 mark in the first.  Eastern Nazarene would battle back to trail by just five points at 16-11 with 10:11 remaining in the half.  NEC’s Ashley Hutton (Lebanon, N.H.) would hit seven three pointers in the next seven minutes to give the Pilgrims the 46-29 halftime lead.
 
NEC would continue to dominate the offense in the second half building an early 25 point lead.  The Crusaders would get as close as 17 but NEC would shoot a season high 56% from the field on the night leading them to the 86-56 victory.
 
Leading the way for NEC was Ashley Hutton who finished with a game-high 26 points on 8-for-16 from three-point range.  NEC’s LaShawnda Wilson (Burlington, Vt.) chipped in 16 points and dished out a career-high 10 assists.  Emily DeSack (Exeter, R.I.) was the only other Pilgrim to score in double figures finishing with 14 points.
 
Leading the way for Eastern Nazarene was Jessica Schoppee (Scarborough, Maine) who finished with a team-high 15 points.  ENC’s Amanda Remmel (Allentown, Pa.) chipped in 13 points and Amber Burns (Fall River, Mass.) finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.
