Holy Cross forward Kathryn Kelley (Dedham, Mass.) would net the game-winner 5:26 into the third period lifting the Crusaders past the Pilgrims 2-1 Friday afternoon in Henniker. With the win the Crusaders remain undefeated on the season improving to 17-0-1 overall. The loss evens the Pilgrims to 8-8-2 on the season.

The two teams battled through a majority of the opening period scoreless before Holy Cross forward Stacey Hochkins (New Boston, Mich.) would intercept a pass and score a break-away short-handed goal at the 13:54 mark.  The Pilgrims would respond quickly as Danielle O’Leary (Clifton Park, N.Y.) would chip in a shot assisted by Kaleigh Costello (Hudson, N.H.) at the 17:45 mark knotting the game at 1-1.

Holy Cross would control much of the offense in the second period out shooting NEC 22-4 but Pilgrim goalie Teraysa White (Belgrade, Maine) would keep the Crusaders off the board sending the game into the final period tied at 1-1.

The Crusaders would break the tie early in the third period as Kathryn Kelley would score her third goal of the season assisted by Wendy Norbrega (Barrington, R.I.) at the 5:26 mark.  The Pilgrims would have opportunities late in the period but the Crusader defense would hold strong holding on for the 2-1 victory.

Picking up the win in net for the Crusaders was Lindsay Atkinson (Westbank, B.C.) who finished with 15 saves on the afternoon.  In net for the Pilgrims was Teraysa White (Belgrade, Maine) who stopped and impressive 52 shots on net.
