Women's Lacrosse beats in-state Daniel Webster
New England College would explode for 13 first half goals on their way to the eventual 17-2 win over the visiting Daniel Webster Eagles Saturday afternoon in Henniker. With the win the Pilgrims improve to 5-6 overall while the Eagles fall to 0-6 on the season.
The Pilgrims would control every offensive statistic leading in shots 33-2, ground balls 32-11 and draw controls 17-4. NEC would score the first five goals of the game and tack on four unanswered second half goals cruising to the non-conference win.
Leading the way for the Pilgrims was Brandi Vittum (Reading, Vt.) who finished with four goals and Emily Kuchta (Norwalk, Conn.) who scored a goal and dished out four assists. NEC’s Alexandra DiRico (Limerick, Pa.), Stephanie Currant (Wakefield, Mass.) and Lauren Bickford (Lebanon, Maine) each scored twice for the Pilgrims.
Scoring for the Eagles was Natalie Bates (N. Kingstown, R.I.) and Shawna Kavanagh (Abington, Mass.)
Picking up the win in goal for NEC was Amanda Murdock (Bradford, N.H.) Splitting time in goal for Daniel Webster was Amy Prince (Hope Valley, R.I.) who finished with six saves and Jenny Ozug (Westport, Mass.) who finished with five saves.
