The New England College Women’s Soccer winless streak increased to two games as the visiting Panthers of Plymouth State College defeated the Pilgrims 3-1 on Saturday afternoon in Henniker. The win improves Plymouth State to 2-0-0 on the season while the Pilgrims fall to 0-2-0.

Plymouth State would get on the board only 16 minutes into the game as Stacy DiSabato (Manchester, N.H.) connected on a breakaway pass from Gianna Minervini (Point Pleasant, N.J.). The Panthers would strike again in the first half as Courtney Marvin (Elizabethtown, N.Y.) arced a pass from Kelsea Anderson (Rye, N.H.) over the head of NEC goalie Kerry Hughes (Wallkill, N.Y.) at the 37:49 mark.  Plymouth State would hold the 2-0 lead going into the half.

The Panthers would increase their lead to 3-0 early in the second half as Katherine Goller (Williston, Vt.) would rebound a shot from teammate Minervini.  NEC would earn their lone goal of the game with just under 20 minutes left to play off of an unassisted breakaway goal from Katie Haynes (Hudson, N.H.).

Splitting time in goal for Plymouth State was Stephanie Regina (Howell, N.J.) with one save and Angelina LaBroad with two.  In goal for the Pilgrims was Hughes with four saves and Laurie Silva (Dorcester, Mass.) who finished with six saves.

New England College returns to action on Tuesday, September 9 when they travel to Lasell College for a 4:00 p.m. non-conference match up.  Plymouth State will also return to action on Tuesday as they host Simmons College at 6:30 p.m.
