The All American Award
New England College has produced twelve national All-Americans in four sports.
Field Hockey
Courtney Lockhart, Class of 1998
She was named a Second Team AstroTurf NFHCA Division III All-America in the fall of 1997 after a brilliant three-year career.
The recipient of three varsity hockey letters, she served as Tri-captain in her senior year.
She was named MVP in both her junior and senior years.
She was named first team CCC All Conference in her senior season.
She was named CCC Player of the Year in 1997.
She was selected to the Hoctoberfest All Tournament Team in both 1996 and 1997.
In the fall of 1997 she was once named athlete of the month.
The recipient of four varsity letters in lacrosse, she served as Tri-captain in both her junior and senior years.
She was named MVP in both her sophomore and senior years.
In the 1996 season she was once named athlete of the month.
In 1998 she was selected to the NEWLA All Alliance Team.
The recipient of one varsity letters in skiing.
She won in Coaches Award in skiing.
The recipient of NEC’s Priscillia C. Danforth Memorial Athletics Award her senior year.
Jill Jones , Class of 2001
She was named a Third Team AstroTurf NFHCA Division III All-America in the fall of 2000 after a brilliant four-year career.
The recipient of four varsity hockey letters, she served as Co-captain in both her junior and senior years.
She was named MVP her junior season and Co-MVP in her senior year.
She was named first team CCC All Conference in her senior season.
She was selected to the Academic All-American Team her last three years.
The recipient of a varsity letter her freshman year in basketball.
She played on the Women’s Club Hockey team her junior and senior years.
The recipient of four varsity hockey letters in lacrosse, she served as Tri-captain in both her junior and senior years.
In 2001 she was selected First team defense in the CCC her senior season.
Academic All-Conference team in the CCC her senior season.
She ranked #9 in the nation for Division III her senior season in ground balls.
Laura Buffa , Class of 2002
She was named Second Team NFHCA/STX Division III All-America in the fall of 2002.
The recipient of four varsity hockey letters, she served as Co-captain in her senior year.
She was named MVP her junior season and Co-MVP in her senior year.
She was named first team CCC All Conference in all four seasons, including CCC Rookie of the Year in her first season and CCC Player of the Year her senior season.
She was selected to participate in the 2002 NFHCA North/South All Star Game.
Member of the CCC All-Academic Team in both her junior and senior year.
She was individually ranked by NFHCA as one of the top four players in the nation for goals, goals per game, points per game and points.
Lindsay Inman, Class of 2005
She was named CCC First Team All-Conference, NFHCA DIII First Team All-Region, NEC Athlete of the Year, NEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2003.
In 2004 she was a part of the NFHCA DIII First Team All-Region.
The CCC First Team All-Conference, NEC Team MVP, a member of NFHCA DIII First Team All-Region in 2004.
She was named a Second Team STX/NFCHA DIII All-American, CCC Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2004.
Three year member of the NFCHA National Academic Squad, two year member of the TCCC All-Academic Team
Lori Zaniboni, Class of 2006
Named NFHCA DIII First Team All-American in 2006.
Named to the TCCC First Team All-Conference in 2006.
Received the NCAA DIII Statistical Champion in Assists Per Game in 2006.
Named the Team MVP in 2006.
She was named to the NFCHA National Academics Squad for three seasons and the CCC All-Academic Team twice.
Amanda Lester, Class of 2008
She was named TCCC First Team All-Conference and NFCHA New England First Team in 2005.
As a junior she was named a NFCHA Third Team All-American, to the CCC First Team All-Conference and was the NCAA DIII Statistical Champion in points per game and goals per game.
Field Turf/Tarkett ECAC DIII Second Team All-Star in 2006.
Was a NFCHA DII Senior All-Star, TCCC First Team All-Conference, TCCC Player of the Year and NFHCA DIII First Team All-American in 2007.
Was a womensfieldhockey.coms Second Team All-American in 2007.
Named to the ECAC DIII First Team All-Star Team in 2007.
As a senior she was the NCAA DIII Statistical Champion in points per game and goals per game.
Golf
Peter Lucier, Class of 1977
In 1977, after finishing 37th in a field of 144 golfers at the NCAA Division III Championships at Kenyon College in Gambia, Ohio, he was named an All-America Honorable Mention.
The winner of four varsity golf letters, he served as team captain in 1977 and was named team MVP in his junior and senior years (1976 and 1977).
In 1976 and 1977, he was selected to the NAIA All-New England Team and in 1976 he competed in the ECAC Championship.
Until 1990, he was the NEC’s leading golfer in total wins.
Additionally, he ran cross-country and earned a letter in 1977.
In 1992, at the inauguration of New England College’s Athletic Hall of Fame, he was among the first 10 inductees.
Skiing
Scott de Grasse, Class of 1988
He was named an All-America in the spring of 1984, his junior year.
The winner of four-varsity skiing letters, he three times served as team captain (1983, 1984, 1985) and in his senior season was named team MVP.
In 1983, he was runner-up at the ECAC Division I Ski Championships,and for four consecutive ski seasons competed at the National Ski Championships.
In 1985, he received NEC’s George M. Parmenter, Jr. Memorial Athletic Award.
Additionally, he was an outstanding soccer player, earning four varsity letters and twice serving as team captain (1983 and 1984).
In 1998, he was inducted into the New England College’s athletic Hall of Fame.
Ice Hockey
Ed Galiani, Class of 1982
He was named a First Team Titan East All-America in the spring of 1982 after a brilliant four-year career.
Twice named team MVP (1980 and 1982,) he collected four-varsity hockey letters And served as captain his senior season.
During his senior season , he led his team in scoring with 73 points (48-G, 25 A) and Still holds the NEC record for goals (48) and points 73).
He is a member of the 100 Point Club, ranking #1 with 178 career points (100-G, 78A) and one of only three players to score more than 50 points in two different NEC hockey seasons.
In 1982, he was selected a recipient of NEC’s George M. Parmenter, Jr. Memorial Athletics Award, an ECAC All Star,to play in the annual ECAC East-West Senior Game, and to play in the East West National Game.
In 1992, at the inauguration of New England College’s Athletic Hall of Fame, he was among the first 10 inductees.
Ralph Aiello, Class of 2001
During his four-year career, he collected numerous awards and honors, topped off in the spring of 2001 by his selection as a Second Team JOFA East All-America in the college division.
The recipient of four varsity hockey letters, he was named team MVP in his senior year after leading his team in scoring with 54 points (25-G, 29A) to become only the sixth player in NEC hockey history to score more than 50 points in a season.
He is a member of the 100 Points Club, ranking #10 with 123 points (46G, 77A).
In 2001, he was selected: First Team ECAC East All Star, ECAC East-West Senior All Star, ECAC East MVP in the annual East-West Senior game and ECAC East-NESCAC All Star.*
Travis Banga, Class of 2004 (selected in 2003 and 2004)
During his 2 1/2 seasons, Travis has collected 128 points in just 70 games.
In the 2002-2003 season, as a junior, he scored 50 points becoming just the seventh player in NEC hockey history to score more than 50 points in a season.
In 2003, he was selected: MVP for the NEC Pilgrims, First Team ECAC East All Star, ECAC East Player of the Year, ECAC East All Academic Team, ECAC East All Tournament Team, ECAC East-NESCAC MVP*, ECAC East-NESCAC All Star*, First Team JOFA All American Eastern Division College Hockey
