Women's Ice Hockey Coaching Staff
Sis Paulsen, Head Coach
Sis Paulsen enters her first season as the head coach at New England College.
Most recently Paulsen served as the assistant women’s ice hockey coach at Division I Minnesota State University, Mankato for one season. While at Minnesota State Paulsen helped the Mavericks to an 11-21-3 overall record and a trip to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Quarterfinals. Prior to Minnesota State Paulsen spent three seasons as the assistant women’s hockey coach at Bemidji State University. Over her three seasons at Bemidji Paulsen led the Beavers to three straight WCHA Quarterfinals. In addition to her duties as assistant women’s hockey coach Paulsen spent a season as the head softball coach at Bemidji State.
Paulsen graduated in 2003 from the University of Wisconsin with her Bachelor Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Paulsen was a four-year starter for the University of Wisconsin and helped lead the Badgers to three twenty win seasons. Paulsen served as the team captain from 2001-03 and earned WCHA All-Conference honors in 2000 and 2003.
Paul Vazquez, Assistant Coach
Paul Vazquez is entering his third season as assistant women’s ice hockey coach at NEC. Vazquez is originally from Buffalo, N.Y. where he played two seasons at Division I Canisius College.
Vazquez’s coaching experience includes two seasons at Canisius High School in Buffalo and also as a goaltender coach for Henniker Youth Hockey. In addition to assisting the women’s hockey program he is currently entering his second season as NEC's Head Women's Soccer Coach.
Coach Vazquez will specialize in training on the individual level, assist with practice plans and implementation, and take over some recruiting responsibilities.
