Online Education Programs
The School of Graduate and Professional Studies is pleased to announce two online graduate education programs, a Master of Education with a concentration of School Principal, Special Education, Literacy, or Interdisciplinary Instruction and a CAGS in School Principal or School District Superintendent. The next cohorts will commence January 2009. Instructors in these programs are practitioners and leaders in the education field.

M.Ed. for Principal Certification
Teaching and Leadership
The Master of Education program is
designed to develop teacher leadership as part of the ongoing goals to
improve quality of instruction and student success in schools. In
keeping with the New Hampshire State Certification Standards and
Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (INTASC)
Standards, the rigorous curriculum is data-driven, site-based, and
linked to the classroom.

Superb Reputation
New England College is renowned for its
top-quality education department. As part of the department's ongoing
evolution, the Master of Education is offered to develop teacher
leadership. Graduate students and NEC faculty work as a learning
community to address real-world issues of teachers and schools.
Locations
Courses are offered on campus in
Henniker and in some school districts within New Hampshire. Courses are
scheduled for late afternoon, evening, and/or weekend hours.
Timeframe
Courses are generally run on a semester basis. The Master of Education program is a 32-credit program, and for most candidates can be completed within a two-year period. Students may enroll throughout the year.
Designed for Current Professionals and those seeking Certification
The
NEC Master of Education is designed for current practitioners who are
already certified teachers and individuals who wish to become certified
or add a new certification. The courses offer the highest level of
professional interaction in that students have a broad range of
teaching experience, in addition to their academic preparation, and can
work collaboratively to become effective teachers and leaders.
Superb Faculty
Students study with NEC’s full-time
faculty, as well as with highly respected practitioners and scholars
from the community. The program is firmly linked to NEC’s outstanding
Education department, as it is to the professional teaching community.
