2011 Convocation at New England College
The 2011 Convocation of New England College took place September 6. The speaker was Dr. Michael Thomas, President and CEO of the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE). NEBHE was founded in 1955 as a congressionally authorized agency serving the six New England States.
Dr. Thomas has served with the New England Board of Higher Education for the past ten years. He was named president and CEO in November of 2008 after serving as interim president. His previous role as senior vice president included responsibilities for policy and research focused on expanding programming for K-12, postsecondary, and lifelong learning, and collaborative opportunities between higher education and business and government.
He holds degrees from Brigham Young University, Teachers College of Columbia University, and Boston University, and earned his doctorate in education and social policy from Harvard University.
