NEC Men’s Ice Hockey Traveling to Battle Castleton in ECAC East Quarterfinal

HENNIKER, N.H. – New England College men’s ice hockey has been tabbed the #5 seed heading into the ECAC East Playoffs and will travel to battle the #4 seeded Castleton State College Spartans on Saturday in ECAC East Quarterfinal action.

The Pilgrims finished the regular season with an overall record of 9-12-4 and an ECAC East record of 7-8-3, while the Spartans closed out the regular season 14-9-2 overall and 9-8-1 in conference.  The two teams have met twice already this season and split as the Pilgrims topped the Spartans 4-3 back in November at Spartan Arena and Castleton took the most recent meeting beating the Pilgrims 4-3 in Henniker back in January.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Spartan Arena in the Diamond Run Mall Complex located in Rutland, Vermont. Check the NEC Athletic website for more information on game coverage.

The winner of Saturday’s quarterfinal matchup will advance to the ECAC East Semifinals which will be held Friday, March 1 at the highest remaining seed’s institution.
