Senatorial Debate: Shaheen & Sununu

— filed under:

On Tuesday, October 21, 2008, partner organizations New England Cable News, New Hampshire Public Radio, New Hampshire Public Television, PolitickerNH.com, and the Center for Civic Engagement at New England College hosted a debate between former Governor Jeanne Shaheen and U.S. Senator John Sununu.

The race between Shaheen, the former governor of New Hampshire, and Sununu, the six-year incumbent, is one of the most hotly contested in the nation and a re-match between two of the region’s most prominent politicians. Shaheen lost to Sununu by a narrow margin in a 2002 open Senate seat battle.

The debate was carried live on NECN, NHPR, and NHPTV, and was streamed live on necn.com, nhpr.org, nhptv.org, and PolitickerNH.com. The moderator for the debate was Laura Knoy, host of NHPR’s “The Exchange.”

The debate is featured on the front page of the Concord Monitor (Wednesday, October 22, 2008). Please click here to view this article.
