ESL- English as Second Language
New England College’s one to two semester transition program offers new international students language support through courses, activities and individual tutoring. Placement into a traditional course of study or ESL course work is based on one’s TOEFL (or equivalent) score. New England College’s goal is to help you acquire the English skills necessary to succeed as quickly as possible.
ESL students will be placed into the following courses, based on their score.
- ESL 1050 Writing and Reading in English and
- ESL 1060 Classroom and Campus Conversational Skills
- ESL 1070 Advanced Reading and Writing in English and
- ESL 1080 Academic Conversational and Presentation Skills
