IT Information for Students

The Information Technology department at New England College supports Students, faculty, and staff for all campus computing needs.  HelpDesk support, email services, financial applications, academic application management, network connectivity and Internet services all fall within our responsibilities.  In support of our campus mission the NEC HelpDesk strives to assist students with technology issues and more importantly to help them become as self sufficient as possible. Just as with knowing to have your car’s oil changed, (or a more contemporary example – sending a text message or tweet) computers and their basic maintenance have become a routine part of everyone’s work and personal life. Teaching these life skills is one of our contributions to the learning process.

Tips for Technology Use at NEC

Setup and test any computer and software you purchase BEFORE coming to the NEC campus. While we can assist with many problems, knowing your computer and software works before getting to campus will make it that much easier when you get here. When you arrive on campus so will every other student. We don’t want you to have to wait on line for assistance at that time but if you wait until you get to campus to check your computer and software you almost certainly will be.

Wireless Network Services for Residence Halls. NEC has partnered with Apogee, a specialized provider of residential networks, to deploy and support an advanced wireless network for our residence halls, featuring 100% wireless connectivity, 24/7 student support, and more.
